Voodoo – Cannabis Conjury

Recently wrapped up a logo / branding package for Voodoo, a new cannabis topical startup based in Washington (I-502). This was a fun creative project that felt easy and natural from the get go. The design elements tie in a friendly voodoo theme with a Hawaiian twist. The look of the brand was naturally geared toward females, but we also wanted to make the aesthetics approachable to the male audience as well.

Keep an eye out for Voodoo. In stores hopefully this year. If you are in need of  logo design services, feel free to drop us a line. We’d love to connect.

The Hunter’s Wife Health Bar

The Hunter's WIfe

The Hunter’s Wife: Dessert Bowl, The Daily Juice, and a Sweet Potato Waffle.

Today was a glorious spring morning in the Wenatchee Valley. We decided to check out a new spot for breakfast (new to us anyway), called The Hunter’s Wife Health Bar. If you’re looking for a place that serves up food that is not only delicious, but great for you, look no further. Today we tried out three items: The Dessert Bowl, The Daily Juice, and a Sweet Potato Waffle.

The Dessert Bowl

Ummm, if I could eat this everyday for breakfast, I would. The bowl is comprised of a generous mound of dark berry smoothy that somehow stays perfectly cold and intact the entire time you’re devouring it. The toppings included strawberries, banana, granola, cocoa, bee-less honey (apparently that’s a thing), coconut, almond butter, and I’m probably forgetting a few lingering ingredients. Long story short, this bowl has just about everything you could ever want in a healthy breakfast. One bowl was large enough to feed the both of us and at a reasonable price too considering the quality ingredients.

The Daily – Juice

The daily juice embodied the perfect detox drink. Rich in flavor with a heavy hint of ginger, you could pretty much feel the toxins running for their lives.

Sweet Potato Waffle

I’ll be honest, I did not think this thing was going to be good. We had it standalone and surprisingly it was pretty delicious. It did have a sweet potato flavor (go figure), but it just seemed to work nicely as a breakfast item (or anytime item). Apparently you can have it with bee-less honey or syrup, which we will probably do next time.

MKC Photography Rebrand

Just finished up a little rebranding work for Mary Collier of MKC Photography. Most locals know of Mary’s excellent natural light photographs featuring families, kids, and infants. She does wonderful work and needed a visual identity that better reflected what her brand has become. It’s always fun to work with other creatives because they often have an idea in mind already, its just up to you to translate it and put it all together.

Old Logo

New Logo & Style Guide

The new MKC logo needed to mature slightly while still holding on to a bit of it’s innocence. We went with a straight typographical styled logo that would work on all kinds of digital and print mediums. The two type styles really reflect Mary’s personality; the playful/whimsical MKC nicely compliments the über modern type used in “photography”. Keep a look out for Mary’s new look and head on over to her Facebook Page to view some of her work.

Illustrator: Rotate Guides

Another useful tool is the ability to rotate guides in Illustrator. You can do this by first creating a horizontal or vertical guide on your Artboard. Next, select “R” and then click anywhere on the guide. This should create a retical point. Finally, click and drag anywhere on the Artboard and watch your guide rotate on the axis point you created. You can hold down Shift while dragging and reach 45° easily.

Short: Create Guide > “R” + Click Guide > Click/Drag Off Guide = Rotate Guides

Illustrator: Copy Artboard + Contents

I keep forgetting this simple trick so I’m going to jot it down. In Adobe Illustrator you can copy your artboard and all of it’s content by selected the Artboard Tool and then hold down Option and click/drag the existing artboard to it’s new location. This will create a copy of the artboard dimensions and the contents as well. Be careful because it makes for messy layer organization if you get too carried away.

Short: (Artboard Tool) Option + Click/Drag Artboard = Copy Artboard & Contents

If you have multiple artboards in a document you can save each of them individually. Simply go to file > save as > then under options select “save each artboard to a separate file.” You should have the ability to determine your range if you only want to save out a few.
